Vanir UHS (Utilities, Highways & Surfacing) is a North West England-based infrastructure services company that transforms and modernizes the UK’s infrastructure with state-of-the-art solutions. We specialize in utility infrastructure (and are now a fully accredited Independent Connection Provider), highway construction, road surfacing, and tarmac recycling.
As a National Electricity Registration Scheme (NERS) accredited Independent Connection Provider (ICP), we are qualified to design and build new electricity networks to the strict standards required by Distribution Network Operators. This means we can handle all contestable electrical connection works – from initial designs and permits to final switch-on – delivering reliable, cost-effective grid connections for our clients.

Our Services
Vanir UHS provides end-to-end Independent Connection Provider (ICP) services, handling everything from initial grid applications to final energisation for projects like EV charging infrastructure, housing developments, and renewable energy sites.

These integrated services ensure clients have a single, trusted partner for multi-faceted infrastructure projects. Notably, we are a NERS-accredited Independent Connection Provider, managing the full route-to-grid for new electrical connections – including feasibility studies, Point of Connection applications, HV/LV network design, substation construction, testing, and final energisation – all coordinated with the regional DNO and (where appropriate) an IDNO.
By value-engineering our designs and using independent adoption routes, we often reduce installation costs by up to 20% compared to traditional DNO options, delivering faster, more cost-effective connections without compromising quality. Independent Connections (ICP Services)
As an independent connection provider, we deliver turn-key electrical grid connection solutions for a wide range of developments. Whether it’s a new residential housing estate, a commercial/industrial facility, an EV charging hub, or a renewable energy project, we handle every stage from initial inquiry and design through trenching, cable laying, and switchgear installation, to final commissioning and grid energisation.
We coordinate closely with network operators so that our clients benefit from streamlined connections and one-stop accountability. Utilities
